About Us

Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO)

Asia Community Development Organization (ACDO) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political and non-profit humanitarian organization founded in 2014 and registered with the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (GoIRA) under the supervision of Ministry of Economy with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk and underserved people throughout the country.

ACDO responds to the needs of deprived and marginalized rural and urban communities by managing and utilizing the available scarce resources in a well, efficient, effective, transparent and dignified manner to enhance resilience, boost access to education, health services and infrastructure, ensure food and livelihood security, and promote social protection and inclusion.

ACDO has active presence in most parts of the country and intends to expand its operations to the remaining provinces as well with the aim to transform itself into a leading and developed organization which will deliver to and support large number of people who have been affected by the long protracted and sudden on-set emergencies in Afghanistan.

To be successful, it is of vital importance to build local trust, to offer solutions that are acceptable in a male-dominated society, and to comply with traditions, customs and Islamic values. As well as, at the center of ACDO operations is to enable women, a significant but marginalized group in society, to actively participate in civic life and decision-making.

ACDO maintains close coordination and contact with relevant ministries, departments and stakeholders on national and subnational levels. Local bodies and institutions including Community Development Councils (CDCs), District Development Assemblies (DDAs) and projects beneficiaries are engaged in project management cycle (initiation, planning, implementation, monitoring and closing) to boost sustainability and maintain efficient exit strategy and also support local ownership towards project interventions.

Regardless of the hardest circumstances that existed in Afghanistan, ACDO has managed to deliver humanitarian and development assistance in Nangarhar, Herat, Balkh, Kabul, Kandahar, Bamyan, Wardak, Jouzjan, Paktia, Kunduz, Takhar, Laghman, Daykundi and Farah provinces during past seven years.
