About Us

NCA is one of the largest aid organizations in the Nordic region, with 21 country offices in Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, including four joint country offices and other partner organizations. The mandate of the NCA is to save lives and seek justice. We achieve this by working with long-term development programmes, humanitarian interventions and advocacy towards decision-makers to address the root causes of injustice, poverty and power imbalance. Most of our work cooperates with local civil society partners and other NGOs.

The post-holder will provide technical support to provincial Grants Officers in delivering micro, mall and medium-scale intervention under the UNDP’s Area-Based Approach to Development Emergency Initiatives (ABADEI 2.0), which is a flagship programme that brings UN agencies and many national and international NGOs and civil society organizations (CSO) together through a coherent approach and funding platform over a wide geographic coverage. ABADEIs focus is to help meet basic human needs and services by revitalizing local markets and assisting local communities to rebuild their lives and livelihoods.

The NCA projects PEARL and REACH aim to create an enabling environment for women-led informal micro-enterprises, including small and medium enterprises driven by a climate-sensitive local value chain approach and women’s wellbeing-centric interventions. The Enterprise Development Officer will provide support and business advice to micro-enterprises and SMEs in developing and growing their businesses. In collaboration with NCA’s Small Business Development and Value Chain Specialist, the post holder will also assist in providing technical leadership in market research value chain analysis and business planning.
